Gary’s Blog: Land with a spring

Afternoon here,

Well, Tami has accepted a price counter offer on a piece of land. $7000 sale price. It’s near the town of Santa Clara in Panama, maybe five miles from the CR border, and perhaps three miles or so from the wilderness area…

It’s a small .89 Hectare lot, 2.1 acres, where two small creeks come together, and also two year round springs on the property.

Soil is volcanic and rich, with over an acre for growing food all year  in an endless spring climate.. Basically she will be able to grow foods from both temperate and tropical climates…

In a place where no one knows what a canning jar is, and it never frosts in a million years…

There are already a few producing fruit trees on the land, Avocados, Platinos, and some coffee plants… also a stand of large green timber bamboo…

The garden area will have to be on terraces, but the creek valley area will be nice for flowers and herbs…

So I suspect after the new year she will be planting seeds and buying herb starts…

And we will be able to unload the truck, and start a business, probably making greenhouse frames…

So soon begins another chapter…

Tarp shelters on bamboo frames. Cat work parking lot, carving terraces in the rich black soil, developing the spring as a water supply… no fluoride!
And growing as much food as we can to eat and sell…

Never again the hamster wheel…

 Just living like people should…
