Gary´s Blog: Panama´s New Requirements to Cross Their Border (Epilog)

January 9th, 2014

From: Gary

Afternoon,

In recovery mode, a bit of a camp party last night…

Tami and I went to David, Panama yesterday for the land purchase paperwork…

There was a bit of a snafu because it hadn’t been transferred from the last owner to the guy we were buying it from.  They were family, and had  not bothered…  Then they find out the first owner had also not terminated his paperwork when he bought it, and he had to pay $250 and wait four months before it could be transferred to Tami…

But the woman at the land department took Tami under her wing, explained it all to Tami with me translating, and had the guys looking sheepish as she fixed everything and got the ball rolling towards proper….

We ended up paying the seller a deposit of almost half, with a receipt.  So, basically it´s a done deal other than the final payment when the paperwork is ready…

Tami was astonished at how the land bank woman cleaned up the problems for her, and how the woman even took the time to say goodbye to Tami on her way to lunch…  The woman liked Tami instantly, and obviously was happy to help her….

After that we went to lunch with the guys, and Tami wanted to know about property taxes.  We were told that if the valuation is under $30,000 that there are no taxes….

We told the guys about the Nazi tax regime in the US, and they thought it incredible that the government would take your home etc. not to mention rape you economically…

After that we split up. Tami went with the guys back to Candela, and I went for a chat with an international lawyer…to talk about the immigration issue…

I liked the lawyer a lot.  He had lived for years in California, and has family all over in the US…He said the immigration department has been remodeled, and nobody knows what they are doing now…

Then he went on to say that it´s the US government pushing the problems for the ex-patriot Americans….  That the current RP government is in bed with the current US government, and that the US government has asked the Panamanian government not to allow US citizens to even have Panamanian bank accounts…

Then the lawyer told me he couldn’t understand why the US government was doing this to its own people.

I had to explain to him it was because so many people are leaving the US now and off shoring their wealth…  And how the US government was taxing peoples´ retirements at up to 50%, and wanting to tax them another 30% for taking it out of the country… He called that criminal….

I also told him US Embassy has had a back log of people renouncing US citizenship over income taxes in foreign countries, where they were already paying income taxes…

He instantly connected the dots as his buddy is an American who renounced and became an RP citizen…

Basically what is going on, is the American political system has become dysfunctional, and people are voting with their feet and their economics…

It´s a no confidence vote that can´t be black boxed, or explained away by bogus stats…

The people with brains and money are leaving, and trading their dollars for tangibles in other countries while they still can, before the petro dollar demise hits…

It’s pretty obvious that the country is doing a nose dive, whilst doing excuse driven expeditionary wars….  And as Sun Tsu pointed out a couple thousand years ago in his book, “The Art of War”,  Protracted wars means a terminal country…

“There is no country that has ever benefitted from a protracted war.”….is how I think one of the quotes goes…

I would add that there are those who do benefit…  now called the military industrial complex…..

Profiteers of death….

Anyway, the lawyer had the same solutions that I had already thought of on the immigration issue… I won´t publicize them here…

We also discussed the Noriega invasion.  I said I had been told different numbers by Panamanians  on the death count, ranging from 250 to over a thousand…  He said he was a witness to the invasion, and he repeated that twice, and said the body count was over 2,000…  And that the US could have taken Noriega with a Seal team, but had staged a Hollywood style invasion…He also knew about the drug connection, Contra Wars, Ollie North etc..  and knew who I was talking about when I mentioned Hasenfus…

If you are interested in that history it´s all on line.  Use any of the names or terms, and also search term “Ben Linder, Contra War, Nicaragua”, to learn about how people from Oregon felt about it at the time….

And Tami wanted me to mention that the consultation with the international lawyer was $20, for about an hour and a half…

Great guy… I joked as I was leaving that if they threw me in jail, he would get a call from me… he laughed…
